Back in the early to mid 90s, this somewhat nerdy kid in high school picked up a camera. He messed around with it a bit and thought it was pretty fun. So fun, in fact, that he signed up for photography classes in high school. The classes were a lot of fun and helped spark his desire to become a photographer.
When high school ended, he decided to follow in his fathers footsteps and joined the Air Force. He would occasionally pick up the camera from time to time to mess around. It wasn’t until he got orders to move to Alaska that he became a lot more interested in photography. From hunting trips to deployments; ATV rides to C-130 flights; dense forests to barren desert… a camera was almost always there.
After leaving Alaska for Colorado, the passion for photography grew. It wasn’t until he retired from active duty in 2016 that things really began to take shape. Leaving the military gave him the opportunity to try a few new things for a career. Those jobs didn’t really pan out as well as he had hoped. While employed at his last job, he was severely injured in a fall that almost completely destroyed his foot. After that incident and how he was treated by his employer, he decided something needed to be done. He was going to college.
He worked part time while attending school to obtain an Associates Degree in Professionally Photography. About half way through the program, his employer no longer wanted to support his education so, after some lengthy discussions with his wife and some soul searching, Adventure In Pixels was born.
While he is the primary owner and operator of the business, his beautiful wife does assist as much as possible and even has started snapping some shots as well. Together they make up the Adventure In Pixels team.
